In retrospect I don't know why is was important but I tried to bring Bluetooth up and above in a Linux laptop newly upgraded to 16.04 version of Ubuntu. The updation was not the most smoothest and hence the laptop was misbehaving at places. So the whole day was actually more challenging then what the title of this post may suggest. I had to fight many errors and bugs in the updates kernel in order to make the laptop behave decently and then perform some basic Bluetooth functions.
