All the test cases I had prepared worked on Raspbian. But that is not what I was supposed to use. The driver when written will be tested by incorporating it into the kernel source through Buildroot. So it only made sense to make an environment using buildroot for rpi and then perform the test cases on that environment. I spent the whole day trying to create the environment.
